How to Schedule a Social Media Post
We can’t think of anything else you would rather be doing throughout December than participating in #SocialAdvent, but if you find yourself a bit too busy to post (or you just want to be super organised!) then these tools will be able to help with scheduling your posts to go out at whatever time you choose.
Scheduling Programmes
External websites such as Sprout Social and Hootsuite offer tools to schedule content across multiple platforms. These offer a handy calendar visual of all your scheduled content and allow you to manage all your channels through one integrated programme.
LinkedIn currently only offers scheduling through third parties like the above. However, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter also allow you to schedule posts ahead of time within the actual platform.

Instagram & Facebook
As Instagram is owned by Facebook, it is very easy to schedule tweets across both of these platforms from the ‘Publishing Tools’ section on Facebook. Your Instagram account will have to be linked to your Facebook page to utilise the Instagram scheduling functionality.
Go to the page you want to publish your post from (this will most likely be your school Facebook page).
Click on ‘Publishing Tools’ in the left hand column.
Click ‘Create Post’.
When you have created your post, click whether you want to publish this on just Facebook, just Instagram or both (note if you do not include a photo or video you will not be able to schedule on Instagram).
Next to the ‘Publish’ button is a dropdown arrow, click this and choose ‘Schedule Post’.
Twitter
When you click to compose a tweet on Twitter, click the calendar icon along the bottom. This then brings up a date selection tool, where you can simply select the data and time you would like your tweet to be posted. It’s as simple as that!
