Whilst a lot of things have been different in 2020, one thing you can still bank on being tonnes of fun is Interactive Schools’ #SocialAdvent!

#SocialAdvent is a guaranteed way to grow your network as participation will skyrocket your social engagement. This year we are expecting a record number of entrants, so it’s a great opportunity to get involved with a community of schools across the world. Daily winners will also be shared across our Interactive Schools platforms to thousands of followers!

How does it work?

Download our calendar (look out for your printed copy in the mail!) so you can get a sneak peek at the challenges and start your brainstorming.

Each day, when we tweet the challenge, post your entries on the appropriate social channel, and make sure you tag us (@intSchools) and use the hashtag #SocialAdvent.

We'll look through all the entries, announce a daily winner on our Twitter and add each winning entry to our blog!

There are two prizes up for grabs this year: one for the school who wins the most challenges, and one for the school who participates in the most daily challenges! In the event of a tie, we will decide the winner based on creativity of submissions.

Why should you take part in #SocialAdvent?

Aside from the amazing prizes up for grabs, everyone has lots of fun getting involved and it's a great way to both engage with both your own community and other schools! It's also the perfect opportunity to learn more about each social media platform whilst showcasing your school’s talent.

It’s proven that prospective families want to feel an emotive connection to schools, and this is a prime opportunity to display your school’s personality and what makes your community so special.

One school which is always a front runner in creativity throughout #SocialAdvent is Monkton Combe:

“At Monkton we like to think differently and last year's social advent certainly gave us the opportunity to do that with lots of fun, creative and out of the box ideas for content and it generated a lot of engagement for us throughout December. We also have to admit to getting very competitive, so we were delighted to be one of the daily winners!”

- Carl Blunden, Head of Marketing

#SocialAdvent is open to all schools, whether we work together or not, whatever country you are in, and even if you don’t celebrate Christmas (we have a non-festive calendar available too!). We can’t wait to see you get stuck in!
