For some of you, today’s blog may be an introduction to Issuu (/ˈɪsjuː/), so here’s a brief overview of all you need to know! Issuu is an electronic publishing platform allowing its users to seamlessly upload PDF files to create an attractive reading experience for visitors. In the age of worries over security and what we download, Issuu means that visitors to the site no longer have to download lengthy PDF files to their computer or mobile device. With over 3.3 million publishers on Issuu, it’s well worth making use of this platform.

So what is the big issue with Issuu? The answer is simple: it is not used effectively in your #SchoolMarketing.

So, how could your school start using Issuu?

Issuu is a digital publishing platform that makes it simple to publish magazines, catalogs, newspapers, books, and more online. Easily share your publications and get them in front of Issuu's millions of monthly readers.

Stage 1: #SocialPadawan

So, you’ve taken the first step and signed up to Issuu using an email address and a password and see this shiny new and exciting platform in front of you. But, where to start? It’s easy to bury our heads in the sand, but if we take things step-by-step, we can easily get to grips with Issuu.

First things first, find your PDF that you’d like to upload.

Next, press the magic + button in the top-right corner to begin uploading.

Drag and drop your PDF file in this box.

Give it a title: This section is self-explanatory. A short, snappy title will do the job here just fine.

Add a description: This box holds more value than the title box. A good description will make your publication easily discoverable through search engines and improve SEO. Make sure to include keywords that sum up what your document contains and monitor traffic to see how this could be improved in the future (Find out how in Stage 5 of your #DigitalJedi training).

IMPORTANT! You can have a beautiful description but it’s almost useless without clicking one VITAL box.

Make sure to tick this box to make sure that your description helps out and your content is easily discoverable using search engines.
