Stage 5: #DigitalJedi

  • Twitter Analytics is a great tool to optimise engagement on your tweets:

  • Find out the best time to tweet in order to receive the most engagement.

  • Find out what type of content that followers engage with most.

  • Your goal is to find out what is working and what isn’t working.

Use Twitter’s Advanced Search feature:

Here are some fantastic uses of Advanced Search for your school:

  1. Get notifications when someone searches for your school:  People may be talking about your school on Twitter but you don't even know about it. They may not mention your directly. See more.

  2. See Tweets by a date range: Search for tweets about your school during a specific date range. This could be particularly helpful for events such as open days - it’s a very useful feature for gathering data and feedback about your school. See more.

  3. Search for tweets in your local community: Use Google Maps to pull the Geocode of your school’s location. This way, you can filter Twitter results to tweets in your local area. This will give you a fantastic opportunity to tweet within your community. See more.

  • Tweets including some form of media gain much greater engagement and exposure than those without. Tweets with images get up to a 41% increase in retweets! But we are now far past the #SocialPadawan stage of simply inputting an image. Enter, Twitter cards…

Twitter Cards allow you to attach rich photos, videos and media experience to tweets.

These Twitter Cards can allow you to embed call-to-actions within a tweet:

  • Newsletter Sign-Ups

  • Open Day Bookings

  • Enquiries

This will then send the enquiry/email address to your database (e.g. MailChimp) - directly from your tweet! 🤩
